My Internet Marketing Learning Curve: The Gory Details (Pt. 1)
Monday, February 4th, 2008My Internet Marketing learning curve? Yup. You may think this blog looks like a series of sales pitches, and, well, it kind of is. But that’s mostly because I picked out the internet marketing related posts from my other blog (only the ones still reasonably relevant) and pasted them all in here. I did want to provide resources and recommendations, and that’s what they are.
Presto! Instant Blog! But everything comes at a price, doesn’t it.
So here’s a post to give you a bit of background. Truth is that less than a year ago I was still quite intimidated by any kind of technology. I didn’t have a webpage. I wanted one. I felt I ought to have one. I had a book that came out almost two years ago and I felt I really ought to promote it, but I had no idea where to start.
This whole internet and webpage thing gave me HUGE anxiety.
I thought I needed to decide what exactly to put on the page. Then I thought I needed to find someone who would put together my webpage, but cash flow wasn’t what I really needed it to be for what I believed this would cost me.
The thought that I personally could put up my very own website never crossed my mind.
Now it’s about a year later, and while there is plenty of room for more learning, I am continually amazed at what I now know, and how far I have come. And especially at how much I’m enjoying all this!
I want to share what I’ve learned with those of you who are where I was last year or anywhere in between then and now. And of course we all learn different things at a different paces, so maybe you’re ahead of me in some areas and yet there are other things that you’ll find useful here. Or maybe amusing
I still face plenty of technical challenges. I also feel sometimes quite overwhelmed by all the email I’m trying to keep up with. And the tasks of posting new things on my assorted blogs and especially my autoresponders. I’m hardly even one message ahead, barely, on both of them. Every few days I think, uh-oh, better post something… And a couple of times when I had fallen too far behind, I sent out a broadcast message with happy holiday wishes or a special offer.
I didn’t want my “list” to feel neglected. Then again, with all the mail THEY are surely getting, I hope they didn’t mind too much to get a week off from mine.
There are other things I haven’t gotten to yet. I REALLY need to update my first webpage. There it sits, all excited about being the first thing I posted on the internet, and meanwhile, I’ve actually come quite a way.
But it’s on my to-do list. Sooner or later, I’ll get to it. But not until I’ve done a few more squeeze pages…
More details soon.
Have a fantastic day!
P.S.: The affiliate marketing bit is still awfully slow going…
So if you still don’t have Marlon’s info product dashboard and are thinking about buying it, would you please (pretty please) be so nice and make my day by buying it through MY link?
I’m working on a bonus product (”a few shortcuts to using the dashboard”) and I will send it to anyone who has bought a copy of Marlon’s dashboard (any one of the dashboards, really) through my link, which is:
www.easyinfoproductcreator.com
Just send me an email after you buy it with your receipt and purchase date/time and I’ll put you on the list. Shouldn’t take me more than a week to put my bonus together, and then I’ll ship it right off to you.
Thanks a bunch!
Here it is, one more time: www.easyinfoproductcreator.com
P.P.S.: Almost forgot to tell you where to write me: supportATmyfavoritewebstuffDOTcom Thanks! And do feel free to sign up for my mailing list. As I said, you won’t get a whole lot of mail, but I do bend over backwards to make the mail I do send interesting and worth your while. And yes, there’s a freebie in it for you too!
