So what’s the scoop on those giveaway events?

You may have been to some of them, and the truth is, they vary widely in terms of how good the stuff you get will be and how much of a hassle it is to get it.

This one has lots of high quality stuff — of course you may not want ALL the 400 freebies that are available — I mean even the biggest hard drive has limitations.

But there’s a ton of great stuff to be found. I’ve already downloaded dozens of products that I will work my way through over the next weeks and months.

And so where does this stuff come from, you may wonder?

People contribute to these giveaways to gain visibility and new subscribers for their lists. Some of them upgrade for a fee and get the right to submit special offers as well.

If you have been to such giveaways, you will have noticed that you usually have to sign up for a list. Well, that’s the price of the “gift.”

Of course, you are always free to unsubscribe, especially if you find you get more email than you’ve bargained for.

On the other hand, some of the people who you’ve subscribed to actually offer some great value, so you don’t want to discount all those new emails out of hand.

In the meantime, check out those products you’ve downloaded and start putting them to good use.

And if you have some products of your own, start participating in giveaways on the other side — as a giver of the goodies that other people download (and, of course, you yourself can get them too).

It’s fairly easy once you get the hang of it. You create a special product with an opt-in page and a download page, and you’re good to go.

What about all those people who pay their way in and don’t have to sign up for a list? Guess what! You should always offer something else on your download page, including another offer that might bribe those people who didn’t sign up for the first list to sign up after all.

How many people can you get on yourlist that way? It can vary widely — from a few dozen to hundreds if your product is great.

Meanwhile, check out this one, which is a really good one because Dr. Mani got all his friends involved and the quality of the giveaways really rocks:
