Unfortunately, these kinds of freelancer sites are filled with people who offer their writing at rock bottom prices, and you definitely don’t want to compete with that. And you don’t have to.
Here’s how to get around that problem:
Offer high quality writing
There are several ways around that problem. First of all, most people know that you get what you pay for, and so they are willing to pay a premium for an excellent writer.
Besides, now that Google is actually looking at the quality of people’s website content, most business-minded website owners are now looking for good writers because they know that bargain priced writers can hurt their Google rankings – and ultimately their business.
Another way you can leave the competition in the dust
Simply offer more complex writing services, from copywriting, which includes sales pages and autoresponder emails to writing special reports, white papers, and press releases. No $2/article writer can compete on that level.
Okay, so maybe you’re not (yet) confident enough to offer those services. Still, press releases aren’t rocket science, and they’re a good way to get started. And why not literally start with a press release announcing your OWN writing services!
